Yes, I'm back from the dead. I was missing the whole month. I had measels..the SECOND time in my life, dun ask me why, but I just did. That made me realise my health's vulnerability from this highly stressful life of mine. So I took some time to be sick and chilled the F**K out and did some re-energizing and lots of thinking.

All this thinking also made realise I'm not getting any younger & hence I need to chill out sometimes and take things easy. Speaking of age, I saw this on youtube and I nearly teared watching it. It brings back SO much memories and I still know the words to the song. 80's babies and peeps my generation will know this shit is HOT! Check it out!

So anyways folks, yo' boi is back, sorry for the delay, but I'm back at the office! Business As Usual! Holla!

Voyeur Records proudly presents our first female artiste signing, IVI. Hailing from the UK, IVI was heavily involved in the London music scene through live performances, songwriting, producing and event management.

In 2005, she returned to her birthplace Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to further explore more musical and creative opportunities. It didn't take long before she was discovered by Point Blanc and Voyeur Records through her Myspace page. Yes, the blog has been dead for the last month. The past month has been quite a complicated period of my life in the personal department. A lot of changes happened, while I was also trying to consolidate and put everything together(as usual).

But as usual , Point Blanc & Vrec don't dissapear and not come back ten times stronger, that's just not us, haha, so brace yourselves, ladies and gentlement, for 2008 as Point Blanc and Voyeur Records make a comeback fittingly in the month of August, the chinese lucky number 8 on the year of 2008:)

Point Blanc performs @ Hong Kong!

Yup, last week, Point Blanc, IVI and Uncle Real got on a plane and went to rock Hong Kong. Courtesy of the good folks from Nokia IAC (go sign up my fellow independent music friends if you haven't yet), we were selected among a host of great Asian artistes to represent Malaysia at the Music Matters 2008 event.
We were part of Nokia's IAC party in conjunction with Music Matters that took place at Cliq, a cool ass club in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong. All the music big shots was there at hand and we did our best to impress and rep Malaysia. Unfortunately we didn't have still pics of the show (cos our cameraman was handling the CAMCORDER) so we'll post up a video of the show soon. Meanwhile, y'all can checkout pics from us bein' at HK.

In Malaysia, I'm honoured to be part of the Hennesy Artistry event too. And it went down a few weeks back in Aloha club, KL. Lots of hot people, lots of Hennessy, great music and lots of Hennessy! As the title suggests, since my last post, alot happened, Man United won the Champions league too (BITCHES!!!!), I had a couple of shows both in and out of the country. And as usual, I have the whole running an independent record label, music publishing company and clothing line in between all that.

A lot of changes happened in my life too and as a result I decided to change the whole look of my blog to represent the situation. I also wanna be black and cool now. And by black I mean my blog background colour, haha.

For all those that read my blog, sorry for the lack of updates. I am very tempted to actually to go get a ghost blogger for me to keep the updates constant but I dunno, somehow I feel a blog should be authentic and personalised. What can I say? It was down to the last day but it was beyond doubt that Manchester United are the CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND for the 10th time! Chel-Who? Arse-Whut?Liver-whut? WE are deservingly the champions for playing the best football this season. And that boy Ronaldo? Anti- United haters diss him being gay, hahah, say wht your loser asses wants this IS the best footballer of the year...now on to the Champions League...but for now..CHAMPIONES!CHAMPIONES! OLE, OLE, OLE! Its a great day for all United supporters worldwide! GLORY, GLORY, MAN UNITED!

Hong Kong based super hip hop group 24 Herbs was in KL recently for a showcase. They rocked The Loft KL along with my boi Jin and brought the whole mother****in' house down! Their live set is pumpin and brilliant. I'm really glad to see Asian/Chinese hip hop on the rise! Hopefully I can work with them one day:) For those that missed the show, check it out on youtube:-

AIM don't like Point...

We constantly hear " Our music industry needs support, We need to support our local acts, etc" from all this big powers that be that represent our Malaysian music industry. Sadly, when it comes down to doing something about it, they then revert back to their rigid old ways and say "sorry, these are the rules"...hahah, hyprocrisy?

Me and the whole team spent a lot blood, sweat and tears (and lots of "independently funded" money) on "Straight to the Point". We wanted to break new grounds, do something that has never been done before. Multi lingual international standard hip hop but still retain the Malaysian identity. We did it and recieved lots of good reviews and most importantly support from the consumers and fans. Heck, we even had one of the biggest songs (Ipohmali) of last year.

But Point Blanc and "Straight to the Point" was not refelcted at all in this year's AIM awards. Why is that? I asked the same question when I found out that we were rejected from the AIM submissions. Excuses like " Too many rappers or singers and can't reconize the main artiste" surfaced (which is bullshit cos' most hip hop albums are packed with features)and their main point was that the album had to be 60%MANDARIN to qualify for the Best local CHINESE album. Does that make sense to you? Last I checked Chinese people also spoke Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, etc..so why don't just call it best local Mandarin album? And apparently when you don't qualify for a main category you can't qualify for the sub categories like best music video, best album cover, best vocal ,etc...DAMN!

The sad part is it is very hard for independent artistes to come up with a good product, it's not like every year there is a new album coming up as it involves a lot of time, effort and money. As for us, we put everything into "Straight to the Point" only to be snubbed due to a stupid technicality.

I had a lot of believe in the AIM awards previously having won some but somehow along the way, they have lost their way and main focus, which is to support and give credit to GOOD Malaysian music. I didn't even bother to watch this year's AIM not because I feel bitter but just that I don't see it's authenticity and what it stands for anymore..'Nuff said. The great thing 'bout this video/song is that the creator didn't just speed up the whole track to make it sound chipmunkish, but he/she put in some effort to keep the song tempo the same but only the vocals sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks did it! So mad props to Alvin & crew for doin' Meng Wan!Haha, I guess it is a good song if the Chipmunks covered it!

Ok, as the title suggest, there has been a slow supply of posts on my blog lately. Well, as usual, yo' boi Point is busy brewing up sum nu shit for the 08! I'm not one to say alot until shit is done and ready to be shipped out so I'll just say that Voyeur Records are up to a few projects for this year. yes, a FEW!

As usual, I get peeps askin' "So wht you up to lar? No news from you.." and as usual I reply " When new shit comes up y'all will know!" We at Vrec constantly trying to step up our game and these days I'm like the super multitasker with no social life..thats what you get when u try to be Jay AND Dame at the SAME time runnin' ROC with no Crack money, hahaha! Rap fans will know what I'm trying to say.

On a positive note, these past few weeks has been mind blowing as we have been in the studios working on some new material with some world class artistes so I'm really excited for the next few months ahead.

Yesterdaynite was one night I will remember forever. It's one of those times in life you think you are dreamin' and you might wake up!Yup, I met my hero, my inspirational figure, my favourite emcee next to Nas and Jay, Jin, The EMCEE!!!
Its really crazy as 2 years ago I told myself I wanted to meet him someday, somehow and it felt so impossible what with me back in KL, and he is this big ass hip hop superstar! Flash forward 2008 and I'm talkin' to him backstage and watching him live!Crazy.

A lot of peeps and so called hip hop fans around here don't really know him as he should be known. Most know him only from his ABC Jin album, and some from his Freestyle Friday Battle days & some Youtube vids. But to me, Jin is one of the greatest emcees in the world, plus the most unbelievable fact is that he is CHINESE!!! I have most of his albums (some as mp3s cos I can't cop it here)and his feature joints. I seen all his battles from the classic Smack DVD Jin vs Verse to his 50 grand freestyle battles! This guy is unbelieveble and is the TRUTH! I relate a lot to him to a certain degree in terms of a chinese kid havin a fulltime career in hip hop, his industry journey, his ups and downs, his love for the artform, etc. Of course I will never be signed to Ruff Ryders nor be freestyling in BET..haha, this guy's discography is crazy!

The most amazing thing is that he is really as humble and down to earth as we see him to be. All that greatness and humility. I take my hats off to you Jin. I got nothing but mad love and respect for you. Good luck on your 49 venue Malaysian tour!

Youth '08 was a huge Youth related expo/festival organised by the peeps @ youthmalaysia.com recently. Point Blanc was involved in various activities during the 3 day event. They included a special celebrity forum talk which he was one of the speakers along with Ash Nair (Msian Idol finalist) and Rachel Tan (Ex-Miss Malaysia), performed for the Street Dance battle and also had a booth selling his CDs and clothing line. Heck, even this blog got into the most popular blog competition which was organised by the event.

It was a fun and hectic day as the Vrec street team dropped by to assist in selling (hustling) the products! Special thanks go out to the hardworking Eugene, Mel and Princess for their top notch street hustling style! Let's bring on the pics!

2008 saw Voyeur Records relocate to a more central location in PJ. What better spot than to be smack in the middle of bustling SS2? I use to chillout in SS2 back when CS and CCs were the shit way back! (CCs still are the shit but CS not so much, now more MMORPG, confused 'bout the acronyms?ha-haaa)

22 Days late for the New Year Post!

Ok, my fellow blog readers, if you are still out there, you have the right to shoot me. I have slacked on posting again. This is my first real post of 2008. 22 days late. I'll tell you that the past 22 days have been hectic for me, moving to a new office, a new management company, some shows, radio & TV appearances, more business ventures, etc but I'm sure it will still look bad for me. SO yes, I'm guilty. I haven't been blogging as hard as I can.
So my New Year resolution is: POINT WILL BLOG MORE FREQUENTLY (minus the excuses). Hopefully this time I'll be on it:) TO those that keep checking back regularly, I thank y'all for the patience:) Ok then, here goes:-

New Year 2008

Me and the Vrec boyz (and girls) headed down to my hometown(again) as we had a show for New Year's Eve (yah!get paid!). It was a Y2K ( a famous Ipoh club) organised Beach Party held at Lost World Ipoh(a Sunway Lagoon lookalike). Lots of people (almost 10K)and hot Ipoh babes in bikinis(sorry guys, didn't take pics). As usual it was a hectic one day trip and we barely had time to sleep(but we ate). We ate lotsa good Ipoh food. Will post the next time I go back there on the food. A giving Christmas!

A person close to me once said I was always thinking about myself a lot and I should give back to society a lil when I can. Well, those words always stuck in my mind and after a good 2007 of God's blessings, me and some of the Vrec family decided to visit an orphanage and just give those kids some cool presents to make them happy.

We didn't do it for any publicity or tax exemptions but just wanted to make those lovely children happy and excited about Christmas. Cos' kids enjoy the present part of Christmas best! We visited the Praise Emmanuel Children's Home (PECH) in PJ.

We were so surprised to see the children so well behaved and so filled with love. I must really give credit to Mr. Christopher, the founder and main man of the home. He runs four of these homes for orphans, abandoned and abused kids. The best thing is, he is very commited and teaches them very good values. The experience visiting the home really made us reflect on how lucky we are and how we should all try to give something back to the less fortunate.

The children were so happy when they opened their presents and the joy and smile on their faces made our day. However, Mr Christopher told us that only during the seasonal events that alot of people and organizations pay attention to these kids. During the "non peak" seasons (which is the rest of the year) most people don't care and just go on with their lives. Sigh, it was sad to hear that and we hope to contribute as much as we can. So I take this opportunity to ask everyone to try to do something for the less fortunate sometime in their lives as the joy and self fulfillment after doing charity beats any high in the world.

Been havin' a lot of long ass weeks these days, sigh, I need a holiday soon. Anyways, a slight delay of post yet again due to being on the road with my tour and crunch time for the production and shooting of the Meng Wan music video.

Thank God, the Meng Wan shoot went well and everything looked good. Stay tuned for teasers as we lead up to its worldwide release. You have been warned.

Phew, long ass day. We had the long delayed Straight to the Point press conference at last today and the main topic was to kick off the first phase of the Point Blanc nationwide tour.

Modestos, KL (Thanks guys) was the spot and a very healthy number of media turned up to cover the event. This was a closed event as its main purpose was to announce the tour to the media/press. SO friends and fans don't despair, we'll try to have an album related open party in the future aight?

Once again I'll let the pics and videos (thanks to Mandy & Eelen of Twenteetwentee Productions for them) do the talking as I'm kinda tired and too brain dead now to write. Vrec fo' life!

The week that was

Long week, usual blog lag...ladies and gents, I'm back to make up for lost posts. True believers stand firm, Yo' boi will eventually double time and blog daily, your patience and support is much appreciated.

Lots happened as usual in the life and times of P.B. (that's me)in the span of a week. I celebrated my (gasp!) 28th B'day, had lots of record label meetings (yawn),Voyeurizm TV interviews, pre planning for the Meng Wan upcoming music video and also managed to squeeze in a music video shoot and cameo. Try tossing in a personal life, family and friends (and Man United, lol). Phew! Hustlin' ain't easy!

They say a picture tells a thousand words, so to make up for lost posts, here's a peek into the last week of Point's life(and thats why he couldn't find time to blog regularly:P)!

Return of the Ipohmali blogger!

Ok folks, guilty as charged. I have NOT been updating my blog regularly. Now here comes the excuses and reasons. The past month had a lot of things happen in my life. Lots of changes in my personal and professional life. Add the whole puasa/raya holidays and BAM! I have not blogged for 2 weeks.

Professionally, I've had quite a busy month. I was hard at work shooting a movie all the way in Kuantan. You heard it here first, lookout for Point Blanc's acting debut role in the motion picture Hilang hitting cinemas in Febuary 2008. Besides the regular shows here and there we (Vrec) also succesfully launched our clothing line at last to much fanfare. Add to that the other hustles of running a record label/management company and you have one tired Ipoh boi. So I guess I deserve some rest right folks?

Anyways once again I come back making a pledge that I will blog again constantly. Thank you for coming back and supporting! Your boi is BACK!

It was a good weekend as the Vrec team won our first award in last Saturday's ERA Awards 2007 in Genting.We didnt't expect it at all, so when the results was announced, me and MajoR R.E. were so surprised that I actually fumbled in my speech and forgot to thank a bunch of people. So I will make the intended speech in this post:

"I'd like to thank God, my family for their support, my friends and closed ones for their continued support and believe in what I do, my Voyeur Records team:- MajoR R.E., Bie, X,Seng & Tasha for their hardwork and support to make everything possible, Jaclyn Victor for blessing the song with her God given voice and grace. A big thank you to the Voyeur Records street team:- Ammogurl, Vicjamm , Eugene and all the rest for the support and votes, To all that voted and who enjoy my music, thanks a mill. This award is dedicated to everyone who is proud of their hometown and who has a dream and dare take chances to make it come through."

Tomorrow me and the Vrec team will be heading up to Genting for the ERA awards. We're going there because "Ipohmali" is one of the nominees for the Best Local English Artiste/Song category.In my previous post, I urged everybody to vote so tomorrow we will know if y'all voted!lol....

Nehows, even if we don't win, it'll be fun as the whole team will be chillin out @ Genting and attending a local awards show. I think it will be televised live @ Channel RIA tomorrow so check your ASTRO lisitngs for the timing.

Monday blues, I've been constantly reminded that I need to blog on a daily basis so I'm going to double my efforts from now on.

Yesterday was a great relief for Man United fans all around the world. We got our first league win at last thanks to a superb long range shot by Portugese winger Nani. However,later after camera playbacks, it showed the ball touch Tevez's head slightly to tilt it beyond Paul Robinson's touch. Whose goal isit? Who cares? It was awesome and we got our important 3 points against Spurs. Now 5 points away from league leaders Chelsea, we are once again confident. Slow start but not too late for the champs. Go on United!

On non football related news, I was surfing youtube and just wanted to post this video of me and Jaclyn Victor performing on NTV7's Thurday Nite Live a couple of months back.
